Alfa Romeo Sports Cars Concept Executive Fastback Saloon for 2017

Introducing 2017 Alfa Romeo Executive Fastback Saloon. Fancy name for a fancy looking car. Designed by Jacob McMurry, this is his version of Alpha Romeo in 2017 which would compliment Alpa Romeo’s return to the North American market. Jacob drew inspiration for this model from the Carnival of Venice and from the 2900B Type 35 racers of the 1930’s.

This Alfa Romeo concept car, which has been designed before the Fiat/Chrysler partnership, inspires comfort, luxury and elegance. Also, thanks to its boat-like tail end, it could well be compared to a small yacht, although in the end it’s only a car…an interesting one, to say the least.

The 2017 Alfa Romeo Executive Fastback Saloon is a concept car designed by Jacob McMurry, a graduate of Art Center College of Design. The design of this elegant vehicle is inspired from the Carnival of Venice and if you’ve been there, you know what we mean.

The vehicle’s roof is made entirely out of smart glass panels, that have the ability to turn completely transparent or opaque. The car benefits from a diesel V8 engine that sends the power to the rear wheels, or an optional biodiesel engine.

Bullet Classic goes green

The Royal Enfield Bullet Classic definitely has a certain charm about it. Now it’s available as a Battle Green version, which pays homage to the company’s long relationship with the Indian Army. The association dates back to 1949, when Royal Enfield first set up an operation in Chennai to build a military spec 350 cc Bullet.

Despite its 1950s looks, the Bullet Classic is surprisingly modern. The entire range received a new 499 cc engine back in 2009, featuring fuel injection and a five-speed transmission. Fortunately for riders not familiar with the traditional Royal Enfield set up, this also saw the gear change move to the left side of the bike. The Euro 3 compliant single cylinder engine produces 27 bhp (20 kW / 28 PS) and, while it’s never going to make the bikes the fastest on the market, its near 80 mpg (3.5 l/100km) fuel consumption is impressive.

The Battle Green Bullet Classic, which has its frame, wheel rims and bodywork all painted in matt green, costs £4,895 in the UK and comes with a two year warranty. For those not into the forces look, the Bullet Classic is also available in black, blue or red for the same price.

V8 Vantage N420

Aston Martin has unveiled its latest V8 Vantage-based special edition. The N420, successor to the similar N400 of three years ago, is inspired by the company’s exploits at the Nürburgring 24-hour race.

But that doesn’t mean it’s a stripped-out track car. In fact, Aston Martin seems to have used the ‘special edition formula’ favoured by some more mainstream manufacturers: raid the options list, add some cosmetic bits and pieces, then paint the result in some unique colours.



Somewhat disappointingly the N420 - as its name implies - has the same 420 bhp (313 kW / 426 PS) engine that’s found in the standard V8 Vantage. Even with the fitment of a sports exhaust and a 27 kg weight saving (mainly down to lightweight carbon fibre seats), Aston Martin isn’t claiming any performance improvements.

Therefore it can be assumed the 0-62 mph (100 km/h) acceleration time of 4.9 seconds and 180 mph (290 km/h) top speed of the V8 Vantage remain unchanged. Maybe Aston Martin was reluctant to modify the engine in case the N420 ended up eclipsing the much more expensive V12 Vantage?

The N420 should handle better than the standard car though, thanks to the usually optional Sports Pack. This consists of revised springs, uprated dampers and a stiffer rear anti-roll bar, all designed to reduce body roll and increase agility.

Other changes include wider sills and 10-spoke alloy wheels, while the splitter, side strakes and diffuser are all carbon fibre. On the inside, the main features are the normally optional Iridium interior pack, cruise control and Bluetooth phone connectivity, plus special N420 sill plaques.



The N420 is available as a Coupe or Roadster, and buyers can opt for the Sportshift automated manual transmission instead of the standard six-speed manual gearbox. Prices in the UK start from £96,995, and deliveries will begin in August.

Alternatives include the £85,100 Audi R8, the soon to be replaced £87,335 BMW M6, the £90,925 Maserati GranTurismo S, the £87,143 Porsche 911 GT3, and of course the V8 Vantage’s close cousin, the £75,500 Jaguar XKR.

Lamborghini Sports Car Concept for 2016 Madura Hybrid

The Lamborghini Madura concept car was imagined by Slavche Tanevsky, a student at the Munich University of Applied Sciences. He has created this futuristic Lamborghini sports car design concept, in partnership with Lamborghini and Audi designers for Lamborghini’s Raw Materials Project.

Slavche Tanevsky has designed a model with the classic, aggressive lines of a Lambo, but with a hybrid engine. This concept vehicle carries the name of an island in Indonesia, well known for its bull races. Dubbed the Madura (named after an Indonesian island famous for bull races).

Although it slightly resembles the Reventon and the Estoque, the overall design of this hybrid concept car is more aggressive and more focused. The front-mid placed hybrid drivetrain is “hidden” under the curvy hood. In the front side the Madura has huge air intakes and slim headlights, oriented in such a way to accentuate the cars’ width.

According to Tanevsky, "The Madura is a proposal for the first hybrid Lamborghini scheduled for 2016. Doing a car more efficient and more nature-friendly, doesn't mean it shouldn't be exciting, good-looking and fast. (But) in my opinion this new propulsion system should be represented on the looks of the car.

Dodge Viper Rolls Off the Production Line

This final example of the 2010 Dodge Viper is a customized coupe model for D'Ann Rauh (second from right in the picture), who along with her husband Wayne from Arp, Texas, own more than 40 Dodge Vipers. The Texas couple own the largest personal collection of Vipers in the world.

Rauh's Viper is finished in a custom bronzed gold exterior paint supplied by House of Kolor, while unique interior features include various leather appointments crafted by Tony Spampinito from Venzano. The dark graphite five-spoke forged-aluminum wheels complete the package.

Production of the V10-powered Dodge Viper started in 1992. A next generation model has been rumored but not officially confirmed.

Viper production ends

Is this the end of an era, or just a short pause? After eighteen years, Dodge has ceased production of the Viper. The news was expected, having first been announced back in November 2009. The subsequent release of the Viper SRT10 Final Edition in April was confirmation of Dodge’s intentions.



The final car off the Detroit assembly line was a heavily customised example, built for an enthusiast from Texas who already owns forty Vipers. The paintwork - bronzed gold with copper stripes - is certainly, er, unique. It probably looks much nicer in the flesh…

There’s still no firm word from Dodge about the next-generation Viper. The rumours are that it won’t be with us until 2012, assuming it arrives at all. The company is still saying it is ‘investigating’ the situation but, judging by the encouraging comments Dodge Brand President and CEO Ralph Gilles makes in this YouTube video, there seems to be genuine appreciation of how important the iconic Viper is to Dodge.

2010 Volkswagen Kai-Nalu Concept Design Study - Volkswagen Sport Car

Josep Ferriol is a graduate of Universidad Politécnica de Valencia in Spain, and a designer. Josep Ferriol created this concept car design study called the Volkswagen Kai-Nalu, a wild child with extremely exotic looks, as part of his thesis.

The Volkswagen Kai-Nalu is a concept sports car designed by Spanish designer Josep Ferriol. The vehicle is futuristic sports car and is inspired by the waves of the Mediterranean Sea as they smash into the shoreline. The Kai-Nalu also includes a flowing glass upper section, which has been designed to mimic the sea.

 

The Volkswagen Concept Josep Ferriol includes the clear roof, highly stylised wheels and an electric drivetrain with two separate motors and design of Kai-Nalu is somewhat controversial and certainly no please everyone. But in a world where there are many supercars that follow the same formula and same style, the Volkswagen Kai-Nalu is refreshing and different.

 

Ferriol is quite aware of how bold and probably controversial the Kai-Nalu would be, given the tendency for certain modern cars to follow similar design patterns.

 

Designed to be powered by a zero-emission electric engine, the vehicle features highly stylized wheels which have been inspired by the appearance of bicycle wheels.
