Nissan announced the car would get an exclusive luxury package called EGOIST, which tacks on almost the cost of another GT-R to the price tag. Each customer can choose a combination of interior colors among 20 choices. EGOIST is the first and only Nissan GT-R in the world exclusively created by Takumi, or “master with greatest skills”. In addition, the Bose® sound system is exclusively tuned according to the driving position of each driver to meet every customer’s needs. This is the ultimate expression of the Nissan GT-R.

Egoist takes a dry carbon rear spoiler (also used in the SpecV). A stable aerodynamic performance even when driving with more than 300 kilometers per hour, rear spoiler gives an intense look in the back with black carbon paint.

Lightweight and highly rigid forged aluminum wheels, used in the SpecV to reduce unsprung weight and contribute to a smooth driving experience. Newly developed five layers Blue Sword Chrome Color Coating adopted. 2012 Nissan Sport Cars GT-R EGOIST Created by Takumi uses a Titanium exhaust system, also used in the SpecV, providing agile accelerator response and a clear, exhilarating exhaust sound.

Interior parts aired to attack Company, Inc. Muelheim an der Ruhr in Germany and leather master artificers run and stick a carefully selected by the player skin bridge. Inducts are exclusive designs coated with the single and double crochet patterns are incorporated in reticular approach. The high consistency of performance grip (suitable for driving racing circuit), a smooth and approve all provided. Nissan also says the parts are hand made in Germany to add a little prestige to the hyper-expensive rocket.

The new car will come with the pumped-up engine that will power next year’s Nissan Sport Cars GT-R. The twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V-6 will unleash 520 bhp at 6400 rpm to all four wheels, while weighing in about 60 lb. less than the current car, thanks to lighter weight parts throughout the body. Peak torque, estimated at 452 lb.-ft., will be reached from 3200 to 5200 rpm. This means the car will be quicker than the current GT-R. The 2012 Nissan Sport Cars GT-R EGOIST will also have a more compliant suspension (via revised spring rates and slightly different geometry at the rear), while still being able to keep up with cars on the track. The interior will also have numerous key “Egoist” touches.

The car will be delivered to customers in December. The price of the GT-R Egoist is set at about 14,000,000 yen or $150,000, roughly $50,000 more than a stock GT-R and about $10,000 less than a Spec V. The company plans to only sell about 10 cars per month. Nissan U.S.A. has offered no comment about the Egoist and maintains that the only GT-R the company will be selling in the U.S in 2011 is the stock one, so don’t expect the Egoist or Spec V to come this way anytime soon.

The Tango T600 is made of carbon fibre, has a 200mph SCCA/NHRA rated roll cage, has twin electric motors that produce over 1,000ft-lbs of torque, it can beat a Tesla Roadster in a 1/4 mile drag race at 120mph and it has a top speed of 130mph.

Now there are some drawbacks, it’s pretty narrow which may be good for lane splitting and aerodynamic efficiency but it’s lousy for cornering. The car is also a little bit on the pricey side at 108,000 clams, although to be fair the company is working on a new, far less expensive model called the T200.

There’s a video below of the Tango T600 beating the Tesla Roadster in a drag race and the Tango clearly wins, it’s hard to mess up a drag race in an electric car as there is no gear shifting, you just hit the gas pedal and clench. The Tango has also resoundingly beaten Shelby Cobras and Corvettes on the 1/4 mile black top. This could be the ultimate sleeper car really, it looks like a Smart Car but it can embarrass a toupee wearing Ferrari driver at the lights. Sounds like a bucket of fun.

Congestion Charge change

The changes to the London Congestion Charge that Mayor Boris Johnson proposed back in May have been approved.



Scheduled to come into force on 4th January 2011, the new rules mean:

• The Western Extension zone, introduced by former Mayor Ken Livingstone, is abolished.

• An increase of £2 on the daily Congestion Charge fees. Those who pay in advance or on the day of travel will have to part with £10, but leave it up until midnight the next day and it’s £12.


• The levy reduces to £9 per day if the vehicle has been registered under the new Congestion Charging Auto Pay scheme. As well as the slightly reduced cost, the other benefit is that drivers no longer need to worry about forgetting to pay, as the number of charging days a vehicle travels within the Congestion Charge area is totted up and the total amount owed is then taken automatically from a debit or credit card each month. Drivers can pre-register with Auto Pay from 22nd November 2010, but the slight drawback is that there’s an annual registration fee of £10 - and that’s per vehicle, not per driver.


• Anyone who currently avoids the Congestion Charge by driving a vehicle with nine seats or over can still do so, but they now have to make an annual payment of £10 per vehicle.


• Plug in electric hybrid vehicles qualify for the electric vehicle 100% discount. But again, each vehicle has to be registered with Transport for London for an annual fee of £10.


• The Alternative Fuel Discount is replaced by the Greener Vehicle Discount (GVD). This means that any cars - not just hybrids - that emit 100 g/km or less of CO2 and are Euro 5 compliant enjoy a 100% discount on the Congestion Charge. Unsurprisingly, each car will have to be registered at a cost of £10 every year.

However, there may be a sting in the tail. TfL has committed to reviewing the GVD so that eventually only vehicles emitting 80 g/km or less qualify. It is saying this will be introduced ‘when the time is right’, but the first reassessment of this discount has been confirmed for 2012.



The bad news for anybody about to buy a new car is that it’s not yet possible to choose one that’s future-proof against any possible GVD changes. The ‘best’ petrol / diesel car currently on sale is the 86 g/km Smart cdi fortwo fitted with the softip clutchless manual gearbox, while even the greenest hybrid - the Toyota Prius - still pumps out 89 g/km of CO2.

Brammo Enertia Plus

Brammo has launched a new version of its Enertia electric motorcycle. Called Enertia Plus, it has double the range - up to 80 miles (128 kilometres) - compared to the standard model.

That extra mileage comes courtesy of  a new 6.0 kWh battery pack, although the one downside is that the recharging time of eight hours is now twice as long as before. The 13 kW / 40 Nm motor, which gives a top speed of around 60 mph (100 km/h), remains unchanged.

Available in True Blood Red, Eclipsed Black, Aluminium Silver and Peacekeeping Blue (think United Nations), the Brammo Enertia Plus is priced at $8,995 in the US. That’s around £5,740 / €6,470 at today’s exchange rates. But that’s not quite the whole story, as American buyers may also be eligible for Federal and State tax credit incentives.

Deliveries of the Brammo Enertia Plus are due to start in 2011. In the meantime, this YouTube video shows it in action.

New Mazda has officially unveiled the name for its new generation of improved efficiency technologies – SkyActiv. The new moniker encompasses the previously-named SKY series of engines and transmissions, as well as bodyshells and platforms that will be launched in 2011 with the promise of making major reductions in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

The programme will initially concentrate on lightweight construction as a core value of the brand, along with the optimisation of conventional powertrain technologies. As it goes along, efficiency improving technologies, such as regenerative brake systems and hybrid power systems, will be successively introduced. The goal of the company is to lower the fuel consumption of its global fleet by 30% by 2015.

Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback 2.4 Specification

Recently Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia unveiled the new Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback, and the hatchback’s arrival expands the the Lancer range in the country to two model and three variant types, the GT and EX sedans being the others.

The fully-imported, five-door C-segment offering, which Danny Tan reviewed in Japan, is available only in 2.4 litre form here, and the 4B12 four-cylinder pot – also worn by likes of the Outlander – puts out 168 hp at 6,000rpm and 226Nm of torque at 4,100rpm. The block is mated an Invecs-III CVT box with a six-speed manual mode.

The main draw with this 1,415 kg creature, besides its sporty outlook, is in its cargo space – while no van, the 60:40 one-touch folding rear seats get to about 10-degrees from completely flat, and in a seat-stored position you get a cargo space that’s 1,570mm deep and 1,395mm wide, which is pretty decent. In base form the boot is good for 345 litres of space.

Jeep Wrangler Call of Duty

Jeep has marked the introduction of its 2011 Wrangler by announcing a special Wrangler Call of Duty: Black Ops Edition. As the name implies, this limited edition has been created following a marketing tie-up between Jeep and Call of Duty creators Activision Publishing, Inc.

The Call of Duty: Black Ops Edition is based on the 2011 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. Changes from standard are mainly to the exterior, which is finished in black with Call of Duty: Black Ops graphics on the roof and front wings. High-gloss Mineral Gray wheels come shod in 32-inch off-road tyres, while the Mopar catalogue has been raided for the tail light guards and fuel-filler door.

Pricing in the US has been confirmed at $30,625 for the two-door model and $33,500 for the four-door, including $750 destination. The Wrangler Call of Duty: Black Ops Edition will be available in showrooms from next month.

And that coincides nicely with the release of the game of the same name, which is released worldwide on 9th November for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii and Windows PC platforms. Naturally, as part of the partnership, Jeep Wranglers will feature in both the game’s single player storyline as well as its multiplayer mode.



Meanwhile, all Wrangler models benefit from 2011 model year updates. The most significant of these is the interior, which is all-new in an effort to improve quality.



As well as a new instrument panel, the centre console has been redesigned and upgraded materials have been used. New steering wheel mounted buttons mean Wrangler drivers will now be able to use the cruise control, radio and hands-free phone without taking their hands from the wheel.



To help refinement levels, cabin noise is reckoned to be reduced compared to before. Larger rear windows are now fitted for improved visibility, and the door mirrors are heated and powered for the first time. Finally, Sahara models get a brand new body-coloured hard top.



Like the Wrangler Call of Duty: Black Ops Edition, the 2011 Jeep Wrangler range arrives in dealers next month.
