Chevrolet will Sell Volt in Europe

Chevrolet announced at the Geneva Motor Show that it will sell the Volt in Europe, with prices in Germany starting from €41,950 (US$58,560). It will be similarly priced in other European markets, where it will arrive in November 2011.

The Volt's sister car, the Opel Ampera, will also go on sale this year in Europe, at a slightly higher starting price. Unveiled in final production form at the Geneva Show, the Ampera will cost €42,900 ($59,885), but prices can vary in different countries depending on the standard equipment.
Chevrolet said the Volt would be fully equipped with all the usual safety and convenience features, plus leather seats. As in the US, European buyers will have an 8-year/160,000 km warranty (100,000 miles) on the powertrain and the lithium-ion battery.
"Our price in Europe is based on the U.S. Volt price adjusted for transportation cost, import duties, exchange rates and homologation," said Wayne Brannon, CEO of Chevrolet Europe.
The Volt and the Ampera are basically the same car, both being built at GM’s Detroit Hamtramck plant in Michigan, US. There are only minor differences between the two cars, mainly concerning the front and the rear styling. In battery-only mode, the EVs have a maximum range of 40-80 kilometers (25-49 miles) that can be extended to 600 km (373 miles) when the gasoline engine / generator kicks in to charge the battery.
The 111 kW (150 hp) electric motor delivers 370 Nm of torque (273 lb-ft), accelerating the car from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in around nine seconds while top speed is 161 km/h (100 mph). The battery can be fully recharged at any household 230-volt power outlet in three to four hours.

Carlsson C25 Royale is a Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG in Disguise

Carlsson showed up at the Geneva Salon with a new version of its C25 supercar dubbed Royale. Based on the Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG, the heavily customized coupe with the fixed rooftop will be built in a limited run of 25 units. Company officials said six vehicles have already been sold and will be delivered to the customers in 2011. According to Carlsson, each C25 Royale takes six months from order to delivery.
Compared to the Mercedes SL65 AMG coupe-cabriolet, the C25 Royale is 180 kilograms lighter, thanks to the extensive use of carbon fiber, which is found on the hood and the fixed roof. This contributes to a lower center of gravity, in addition to the revision of the weight distribution, both aimed at offering improved handling.
Other weight-saving measures include the fitting of a full ceramic brake system, which is 50 percent lighter than on the SL 65 AMG. The German sports car also features a C-Tronic Suspension system developed by Carlsson, which detects road conditions and driving style and acts accordingly. For instance, on bad roads, the car is raised to offer better ride comfort.
At the heart of the C25 Royale is the biturbo V12-engine, tuned to deliver753 horsepower and 1,320 Nm of torque (973 lb-ft), which is electronically limited to 1,150 Nm (848 lb-ft). These impressive figures allow the C25 Royale to go from 0 to 100 km/h in 3,7 seconds and reach a top speed of 352 km/h (219 mph).
The custom exterior styling is matched to a bespoke interior with Carlsson offering buyers a variety of choices in features and materials.

Studio Carlsson improves the E-class coupe

Mercedes E-Class Coupe

While Mercedes E-Class Coupe undertake to finish reluctantly. On this theme only experts from Bottrop earlier have expressed, now relay race have accepted in bureau Carlsson.

German tuners yet have not prepared for «E-Class» in a body сoupe: neither an upgrade of motors, nor aerodynamic weather-cloths. Now tuners offer magnificent disks of four kinds (diameter of 19 or 20 inches), and also own module of management C-Tronic for pneumosuspension bracket Airmatic which allows to reduce a road gleam by 30 mm.

Mercedes E-Class

To begin with it is enough. As the prices Germans have appointed the moderated. For example, suspension bracket understating will manage in ridiculous 239 euros. For the complete set of wheels, certainly, take much more — from 2499 euros.

Tuning studio Carlsson has worked over diesel Mercedes GL

Mercedes-Benz GL

Experts from Germany dealt with a flagman off-road car of the Stuttgart company not once or twice.

Completions always were serious enough, but for some reason tuners preferred to increase "muscles" only to the most powerful V8 in volume 5,5 l. Omission is corrected: the turn of consumers of solar oil — versions GL 350 CDI and GL 450 CDI has come.

Thanks to an impudent aerodynamic weather-cloth tuning variant Carlsson GL RS it is visible far off. That there is one impressive lattice of a radiator plentifully flavoured with chrome, yes a logo of studio which has almost caught up in the sizes with round headlights.

Between internal and external full harmony. Diesel "six" 3.0 has received new "software" and the sports air filter that has lifted return with 224 h.p. To 269 "horses" and 612 Nm. Have in the same way trained also turbodiesel V8 4.0: the power gain has made 48 forces (became 354 h.p.).

And that the high off-road car felt on bends is better, it was necessary to lower the centre of gravity. The changed module of management of pneumosuspension bracket Airmatic has allowed to reduce a road clearance by 30 mm. In general, any discrimination if to compare to an upgrade of the petrol version. And the price of the complete set the acceptable: 18 200 euros for all.
